The Pinal Mountains are certainly a Sky Island, but whether they are part of the "Madrean" Sky Islands is debatable. They harbor ponderosa pine, white fir and aspen. Their affinity lies to the north away from the Madrean zone, more than other southern Arizona Sky Island.
